Brand History:

TOMS Shoes was established in 2006 by Blake Mycoskie, inspired by the traditional Argentine "alpargata," a light-weight slip-on shoe with a rope sole. During a trip to Argentina, Blake was deeply moved by the prevalent poverty and health challenges faced in the country. This experience ignited his passion to reimagine the alpargata for the U.S. market with a dual purpose: to provide comfort to those lacking shoes and to improve their lives.

In pursuit of this vision, Blake pledged that for every pair of TOMS sold, he would donate an equivalent pair to a child in need. It's a simple yet powerful concept: when you purchase a pair of TOMS, you enable the company to provide for someone less fortunate on your behalf.

In its inaugural year, TOMS experienced phenomenal success, selling 10,000 pairs of shoes. Inspired by this response, Blake returned to Argentina to conduct the first annual Shoe Drop, an event where he distributed shoes to the children who inspired him to start TOMS.

Today, TOMS Shoes come in an array of colors and fabric combinations for adults and children alike, including the new Tiny TOMS line curated specifically for kids.
